Will Social Media Companies Censor Trump in November? Michael Anton with Glenn Beck
We're in for a wild ride.
Claremont Institute Senior Fellow and former NSC Official Michael Anton speaks to Glenn Beck about his article, “The Coming Coup,” at the American Mind. Anton notes that Democrats “want to create a certain sense of chaos and ambiguity,” so they can declare victory after a flood of mail-in ballots and endless litigation. He also expresses concern for the president’s ability to get his message out, regardless of outcome, because of censorship and increasingly partisan efforts of Silicon Valley and social media companies.
“As soon as the media narrative becomes, ‘Trump lost,’” Anton says, “Twitter, Facebook and everybody will shut down the President’s social media accounts and say, ‘he’s illegitimate—he’s trying to stay [in office] illegitimately, and therefore we’re justified in doing this.’ I don’t know at that point how the president continues to communicate with the American people and with his core supporters. I hope it’s something that he and his top aides are thinking about right now.”
